As many of you already know, the 2024 World History Association Annual Conference will be held at San Francisco State University, from June 27-30, 2024. Consonant with its mission of promoting world history studies in our region, NERWHA offers two travel grants: one a minimum of $500 to a graduate student; the other a minimum of $500 to a teacher (including adjuncts and other part-time teachers). Each applicant must be a member in good standing of NERWHA and must plan to present a paper at the WHA conference but lack sufficient funds for the journey. The applications for these grants will be judged on a case-by-case basis.

Application for a grant is simple. Please send a single MS Word document to NERWHA Secretary Al Andrea (aandrea@uvm.edu) with the following:

  • 1) a brief statement of your need;
  • 2) a travel budget with all sources of funding indicated;
  • 3) a one-page CV;
  • 4) a copy of the abstract/proposal that you presented to the WHA.
    • Applications should be submitted NO LATER THAN MARCH 15th.
